The report helped underpin decisions associated with the selection of ‘areas of search’ within existing industrial estates put forward in the Plan, as areas suitable for the development of new waste management capacity. The project involved the gathering of quantitative and qualitative information to establish any constraints which would affect the deliverability of a range of waste management facilities on 55 short-listed areas of search.
In completing the report, BPP Consulting utilised extensive experience of the successful siting, development and operation of waste management facilities. This experience is specifically related to understanding how different spatial constraints affect the effective development of such facilities. The project also benefited from BPP Consulting’s excellent network of waste management industry contacts.
