West Sussex Minerals Local Plan

Previous work had revealed that one of the key issues to be addressed by the Plan is the supply of soft sand, which is a particularly contentious matter due to the majority of the resource lying within the boundary of the South Downs National Park. This situation mirrors that faced by Kent County Council where the soft sand resource lies within or in close proximity to the Kent Downs AONB. This was a key issue considered during the examination on the Kent Minerals and Waste local Plan for which BPP Consulting also provided support.
